Elizabeth has been painting all her life. Her earliest memories are
taking art classes at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta as a young
child. She continued to study and enjoy art, frequenting museums and
studying with various teachers. Eventually she studied at the Atlanta
College of Art and Georgia State. She has also studied with: Marc
Chatov, Chris di Domizio, Daniel
Greene, Kim English, Karen Hagen and Hilarie Lambert at Il Chriostro in
Tuscany, Dolores Kennedy, Ben Smith and many others.
Although mostly a studio artist, Elizabeth enjoys plein air painting
for the discipline of painting quickly to catch the changing light and
to study the true colors in nature. She has attended many plein air
workshops with excellent teachers to hone her skills.
Favorite places and subjects to paint are in her yard and garden in
Atlanta, the Georgia coast, Southern France and Italy. She also loves
painting churches.
The beauty of nature is all around us, we have to open our hearts and
eyes to see it. Elizabeth tries to infuse her oil paintings with light
and color, focusing on the natural beauty God has made. She finds
painting a great blessing in her life and thanks God for all the beauty
around us. Her goal is to make others see and feel this great beauty
through her paintings.
